Piano lessons in the comfort of your home
After a busy day at school or work, all you want to do is put the stresses of the day behind you and unwind, BUT are you having trouble switching gears? Well if you ever thought it would be nice to play the piano, that may be your answer!
A study in Japan investigated the effects of creative art activities on human stress. Each of the 57 participants had to engage in one of four activities: 1) playing the piano, 2) molding clay, 3) calligraphy, or 4) remaining silent (control group). Interestingly, playing the piano was the most effective activity in reducing cortisol levels. The study demonstrates that playing the piano has a significant impact on a persons mental and emotional state and can positively effect the body’s physiological response.

“Piano lessons give me something to look forward to. I tried many different activities to try and shut my mind off at the end of the day. Nothing works better than sitting at the piano and focusing on playing music I enjoy. What's great is that after a busy day, I can come home and stay home to have my piano lesson and have LIVE social interaction with a teacher who tailors the lesson to my needs and aspirations. Carolyn is a great teacher who understands my reasons for playing the piano and helps me to reach my full potential in a caring, fun-loving way. I don't even have to worry about tidying up my house because with video conferencing, no one's the wiser!” — Deanna R. Calgary, Canada
